The Care for Children course from Emergency First Response offers comprehensive and innovative training to teach cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) , the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) , and first aid for children (aged 1 to 8 years) and infants (under 1 year).

Participants learn how to handle emergencies that children may face, and how the nature of their injuries and medical needs differ from those of adults. The course also covers the emotional aspects of caring for children during emergencies, and methods for preventing common injuries and illnesses.


the goal:

To enable the trainee to act confidently and calmly when faced with a health emergency involving a child or infant, following the same care priorities used by medical professionals – but in a comfortable learning environment that helps acquire the skill without stress.


Course content:

Primary Care (CPR)

  • Incident site assessment
  • Use of protective barriers
  • Initial assessment of the injured
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (for children and infants)
  • Dealing with severe bleeding
  • Trauma management
  • Dealing with spinal injuries
  • Dealing with choking cases (in children and infants)
  • Using a defibrillator (AED for children)


Secondary Care (First Aid)

  • Injury assessment
  • Dressing and treating wounds
  • Assessment of diseases and vital signs
