Since the beginning of history, the sea has been a world of secrets and mysteries, unseen by the naked eye, but felt...and heard.
In this blue world, marine creatures speak the language of sound. Waves, pulses, echoes, and clicks all form an integrated communication system within the ocean.
Underwater Sound: A Means of Life and Orientation:
Unlike in the terrestrial environment, sounds travel faster and over longer distances underwater. Whales, dolphins, and marine hunters use this acoustic medium for communication, hunting, and even navigation.
Recent studies indicate that natural ocean sounds (such as whale calls, coral reefs breaking, or fish movements) constitute a kind of “ecological music” that maintains the balance of the marine system and stimulates the movement and stability of organisms.

Why do we care about sound at Coral Beach?
In our "Sounds of the Deep" project, we work to record and broadcast authentic sounds from diving trips. The goal is not just to document, but to convey emotion and connect people to the underwater world, even if they've never donned a wetsuit.
We want people to hear how a diver “feels” underwater…
How to navigate in silence...and listen to the voice of his heart, in the midst of a world that speaks only in echoes.
Can sound enhance our understanding of the environment?
Answer: Yes.
Sound is our invisible window into an environment we can't always access. Listening to the sounds of the deep sea heightens our awareness of the importance of preserving marine life and brings us closer to a reality we may not see, but that lives and breathes... with sound.
Our first experience: The sound of a diver in the depths:
During one of our regular training exercises in the Arabian Gulf, we recorded a diver descending to a depth of over 20 meters.
What you will hear is not just bubbles or water pressure…
Rather, it is the sound of the moment when a person connects with the surroundings, the feeling of transitioning from a crowded world to a calm world that embraces everything.
We recorded this clip using high-sensitivity underwater hydrophones, to capture the subtlest details of underwater sound – the diver's breathing, the movement of the fins, the air hitting the water, and the change in pitch as he dives deeper.
Listen... and dive with us
We invite you to a unique experience:
Press play, close your eyes, and imagine yourself slowly descending into a silent blue depth…
Did you feel calm? Awed? Connected?

We will include more sounds when the recording is available and will post them on our Instagram account.

In conclusion: Beyond the sound
The “Sounds of the Deep” project is not just an artistic initiative, but rather an invitation to contemplate and rediscover our relationship with nature from a new angle: the angle of sound.
We believe that what we hear can change how we see.
And the sea, when a person listens to it, can tell him the greatest stories.
